These three talks were recorded live at a COURAGE Conference. COURAGE is a spiritual support group for homosexual persons wishing to lead chaste lives in accordance with the Roman Catholic Church's teachings.
Fr. Benedict explains two of the goals which characterize the Courage movement: 1. to live chaste lives in accordance with the Roman Catholic Church's teachings; 2. to dedicate one's entire life to Christ through service to others, spiritual reading, prayer, meditation, individual spiritual direction, frequent reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. He challenges those who experience a homosexual orientation to lead lives of greater holiness.
Fr. Harvey holds that the need for intimacy can be satisfied without emotional dependency. True friendships are recognized by mutual love, ongoing communication and the ability to remain independent. Yet, not even the best of friendships can satisfy the heart's deepest desire- intimacy with God.
Drawing from her own personal experience, Vera reflects on how our human weakness and woundedness can lead to a greater trust in the Lord and acceptance of ourselves.
